About Me
Stephen Thorpe, owner / audio engineer
My name is Stephen Thorpe and I'm the owner Din Pan Alley Audio.
Established in 2010, my business was originally focused on sound for live concerts and theater and then moved to post-production and sound design. Eventually I found myself on set recording for video shoots which has become the main focus of my work since 2012.
I've always loved the comradery of being part of the crew as well as the balance of technical problem solving and art creation that exist on set.

I pride myself in being able to work on productions from many angles. Whether it be a traditional film set or being a fly on the wall filming documentaries with everyday people; whether I'm a sound mixer, a boom operator, a music playback engineer or a consultant to corporate clients or independent film-makers.
Throughout the years, on a few projects I have also stepped out of my sound role into a producer and consultant role such as the documentary series "Roots of Fire" as well as TEDx - San Quentin, an event I helped to coordinate with the incarcerated team in the prison's television work program.

But my love always comes back to sound and the comradery on set. Hope to see you there!
